BOOK REVIEW:
THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER
by Stephen Chybosky
by Stephen Chybosky
The story revolves on the life of Charlie who addressed his letter to a anonymous stranger and sharing the wild side of growing up as a teen. Depression, sex, use of drugs, alcohol, sexuality and issues that the present generation can relate. Experiencing child abuse that started to distraught and haunt him again, a best friend who commit suicide, a socially awkward personality that hinders him to experience the fun of being a teen until he met Patrick and Sam who drove him to the feeling of being infinite. Although it has mature materials, it tells about family relationships, overcoming loss, friendship and love that we can learn from. I adore his wit, love for music, books and writing.
It's a must read book for enthusiastic and mature readers because of it's depth and compelling story. Parental guidance is also needed since it has controversial material that needs to be tackled about.
